Other British Butterflies

These are species of butterfly seen in the UK (all in England so far) with all the photos taken in the UK. We have seen quite a few of the other species found on the British/UK list while abroad & photos of them may be found in those respective countries pages - they are not included here as it is my preference to only include photos under a country's page which were taken in that country.  The species pictured here come from three main butterfly trips over the border as follows:

Firstly - Morecambe Bay in Cumbria (2020) from where we saw Gatekeeper, Silver washed fritillary & Brimstone,

Secondly - Caister on Sea in Norfolk (2021) from where we saw Swallowtail, Silver studded blue & Marbled White (at Brocadale in Yorkshire on the way home)

Thirdly - Alfreston in Sussex (2025) from where we saw Chalk hill blue, Brown hairstreak, Wood white, Adonis blue & Silver spotted skipper. This was a trip organised by Naturetrek led by Bob Eade who we knew as he was one of the guides on our Dolomites trip previously.
